About the Opportunity

Samuel Smith & Son now has a unique opportunity for a full-time State Sales Manager to join their team in Adelaide, SA. This is a rare opportunity to become part of an outstanding company, known globally for its reputation in the wine industry.

In this role, you will assume responsibility for the leadership of the Samuel Smith & Son and Negociants Branch in South Australia, as well as the direct management of the SA Samuel Smith & Son sales team. Working alongside the executive team, you will help to profitably grow the company.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

Achieving volume, revenue and profit targets;
Managing relationships, and identifying / developing new opportunities;
Driving the sales team to continue to meet and exceed their sales, distribution and financial targets;
Recruiting, coaching and developing sales and administration teams, as well as supporting warehouse and other personnel that reside in the SA branch;
Developing and maintaining effective relationships with all stakeholders;
Developing customer trading agreements and managing the ongoing review of their effectiveness;
Ensuring execution of brand and channel initiatives; and
Managing branch financial performance.
Full training and a handover period will be available to ensure you hit the ground running.

About You

Samuel Smith & Son is seeking a confident team player with strong commercial acumen, solid working knowledge of P&Ls, and demonstrated management experience in a sales environment overseeing a diverse group of people.

Energetic, persistent and results-focused, you'll act as a mentor for your team members and will lead from the front, inspiring others to achieve their goals. The ability to make your decisions heard, while still maintaining a positive working relationship with others and actively listening to employees' feedback, will also be evidence of your strong leadership capability.

The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, along with a good sense of humour and the ability to build rapport with all key stakeholders. Your excellent communication skills will allow you to articulate clearly to people of all backgrounds.

Importantly, you'll possess thorough understanding of the wine industry, as well as a genuine interest in wine and a desire to develop your career further in this rewarding field.

In addition, Samuel Smith & Son is looking for someone who is competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite and has experience with/knowledge of CRM platforms, including how to manage teams through these systems.
