BACKGROUND

Two Hands Wines is a market leading Barossa based winery specialising in premium Shiraz from many of Australia’s most renowned wine regions. An outstanding individual is required to fulfil the role of Assistant Winemaker at our Barossa Valley wineries. Job Requirements
WINEMAKING DUTIES

1. Responsibility for all winemaking processes for wines produced by the company with a view to maximising quality, including but not limited to:
• Vinification
• Ongoing winemaking
• Blending
• Bottling
• Freight
• Vineyard and grower liaison
2. Co-ordination of cellar and staff in line with the Winemaker’s instructions, especially during vintage
3. Management of winery facility through vintage
4. Barrel work, including regular monitoring and maintenance of empty barrels
5. Maintenance of all winery facilities, including cleanliness of the shed, work areas and plant & equipment
6. Maintenance of the Two Hands laboratory
7. Organisation of barrel tasting and blending trial process and participation therein when time permitting
8. Provision of regular winemaking and inventory reporting to the executive team
9. Inventory management through the winefile system and assistance with physical stocktakes
10. Implementation of and adherence to WHS policies and practices


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Computer literacy – experience with Winefile preferable
• Minimum of 5-6 years winery experience
• Good communication and man-management skills
