Job Description
Balnaves of Coonawarra is a small family owned and run winery in Coonawarra.

We’re looking for a positive and enthusiastic person to join our cellar team, working in the day to day cellar operations including being responsible for maintaining winery equipment, winery hygiene, winery presentation, from fruit receival through to barrel work.

Job Requirements
Applicants with the following skills and attributes are encouraged to apply:

• Previous cellar hand and laboratory experience an advantage but not necessary
• Valid and current forklift and driver licenses
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Thorough in their attention to detail
• Prepared to work flexible hours during vintage
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• A team player, with good communication skills, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
• An understanding of workplace health and safety and a willingness to promote at all times
• Pride in being part of a small, efficient and successful family business.

The Balnaves family settled in the Penola/ Coonawarra area in 1854 and have been working in the wine industry since the 1970’s.
Our vineyards are situated on a shallow ridge at the Southern End of the Terra Rossa strip. The vineyards are now 20 - 40 years old, balanced and producing deeply flavoured small berry fruit. Complex, structured with careful attention to detail working with fruit, oak and tannin integration our wines represent complex and individual expressions of Coonawarra.
