An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced hospitality manager to lead Atze's Corner winery cellar door, based in the world renowned Barossa Valley.
This is a brand new cellar door due to open in October 2018.
Atze's Corner in a family owned and operated winery with a strong focus on quality, honesty, hard work, fairness and accountability.
The cellar door will be located within the winery barrel hall and feature a mezzanine floor and large timber balcony overlooking a 105 year old Shiraz vineyard.
The Cellar Door Manager is responsible for ensuring that visitors to the Atze's Corner Cellar Door have an amazing wine and food experience in line with the brand. You will be the positive face that welcomes and runs this exciting new cellar door. You will also have input into the strategic direction of the site so a good knowledge of the hospitality industry, what makes a venue standout as a unique and memorable experience for all the right reasons.
In addition the successful applicant will manage all the other day to day activities including the cellar door, cheese platter services, tasting and experiences. The role is a hands-on role that will require you to manage the food and cellar door, understand the commercial aspect of a wine club, prepare wine orders for shipping, general day to day jobs within the cellar door, administration and potentially some winery work.
We are looking for someone with experience in delivering high quality wine/food experiences and who understands what experience a wine consumer is looking for. As the successful applicant you will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, financial / business acumen and will have the ability to lead a team to help us to grow to be an outstanding place for visitors to come and enjoy a wine tasting or to order a glass/bottle of wine and a cheese platter on the balcony.
This role is also suited to someone outside the cellar door circuit so please feel free to apply even if you haven't specifically worked in a cellar door before. A person who has run restaurants, wine bars, brewery doors, Distillery doors etc. would be a perfect candidate for this cellar door/ balcony bar venue.
Experience also in sales is an important element of this job, ability to guide the customer to a purchase in a friendly and warm way.
To succeed in this role, applicants must be able to demonstrate at least 2 years' experience at managerial level, plus at least 4 years of hospitality experience in a cellar/distillery/brewery door and or wine bar/similar environment. Applicants must thrive on interactions and enjoy contact with customers, have a love for wine and food, have a collaborative approach and excellent leadership capacity.
Weekend/public holiday work will be necessary for this job; to begin with we envisage the cellar door to be open Thursday-Sunday, 12pm-9pm and progress from there (open to ideas on these times). Job can either be Full Time casual, Full time permanent or begin on a part time casual basis and lead up to full time, to be discussed with applicant.

This role can be negotiated on a casual or salaried basis, with additional employee benefits provided.
