Hardys Tintara Winery is one of the oldest wineries in McLaren Vale and is home to some iconic South Australian wines, specialising in varieties such as Shiraz, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. We are part of Accolade Wines, a global wine company with some of the world’s best known brands. We sell our wines in over 140 countries and have more than 1,700 talented employees.
As the Senior Winemaker/Manager, you will be accountable for the efficient and effective performance of all activities at the Tintara site, maintaining a safe and efficient workplace, driving continuous improvement and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will also be the representing the Hardys brand in trade and with consumers.
The Hardys Tintara team is responsible for the production of the Hardys, Tintara, Leasingham, Reynella and Tatachilla portfolios, and sparkling wines including House of Arras and Yarra Burn. Hence, you will work closely with our group winemakers and viticulturists to ensure wine quality standards and customer demands are met.
In this autonomous and broad role, other responsibilities will include managing operating expenses and capital, ensuring the Hardys premium portfolio fruit source meets market quality and quantity requirements, maintaining company assets, contributing to the regional McLaren Vale wine associations and liaising with contract winemaking clients.
We are looking for a highly experience winemaker with a proven track record in leading a winemaking team to produce outstanding premium and commercial wines.
Naturally we expect that you’ll have a degree in wine science or similar relevant tertiary qualifications, along will exposure to premium cool climate winemaking and dealing with a large number of different varieties. Previous experience working with fruit from McLaren Vale, Clare, Adelaide Hills, Coonawarra and/or the Northern Hemisphere will be highly regarded.
