Job Description
Shingleback Wine is a dynamic and contemporary winery situated in McLaren Vale, South Australia, which owns and manages in excess of 120 ha of premium wine grapes.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced vineyard manager to lead our team at Shingleback Wine. Our vineyards were first established in 1995 with eight varieties of wine grapes supplying one of Australia’s most highly awarded, family owned wine companies.

This is a full time, permanent position and the incumbent will be responsible for:

• Day to day management of vineyard staff and setting work programs.
• Management of the vineyard, machinery and infrastructure.
• Irrigation and vine nutrition with the use of Dream Irrigation Control System.
• Maintaining records pertaining to all facets of viticultural activities, production and employment.
• Appointment and management of staff and contractors.
• Liaising with winemakers, including Vintage planning, picking programs and freight coordination.
• Assist with management of Contract Growers.
• Oversight of the Vineyard WHS program.
• Oversight and maintenance of the site “Sustainable Australia Winegrowing” Quality Assurance compliance program.
• Assisting with establishment of and tracking budgets.
• Working closely and reporting to the Senior Viticulturalist/Winemaker.

A work utility and mobile phone is also provided.
Job Requirements
The successful applicant is likely to:

• Hold a Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology or equivalent or be extremely experienced in the field.
• Have a proven track record of previous experience in vineyard management of a similar scale to Shingleback.
• Have a proven track record of managing employees and contractors.
• Possess excellent communicative skills and be a team-player within the overall wine company.
• Possess high level and up to date computing and technical skills.
