Our Mission Hill Family Estate Winery sits high above stunning Lake Okanagan in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. Known for stunning setting, breathtaking architecture, Cuisine de Terroir-based Terrace Restaurant and exquisite wines, we are committed to delivering a world class experience to our guests.

Our Family owned winery pioneered making world-caliber wines in this pristine Valley, known for exquisite tree fruit, and nothing has been spared from vineyard to bottle to produce truly elegant, unique and exciting wines with New World flavors and Old World refinement. In 1994 Mission Hill astonished the wine world by winning the Best Chardonnay Worldwide Trophy at the International Wine & Spirit competition in London, England. Now, through our dedicated pruning to bottle program we produce Oculus, our signature Bordeaux-inspired wine, representing the pinnacle of winemaking in the valley.

We welcome over 90, 000 guests from around the world each year, providing unique and tailored experiences for all interests. Our guests are invited to walk through our underground cellars blasted out of the volcanic rock, view our unique Marc Chagall Tapestry, stand on the terrace overlooking our Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards and Lake Okanagan below, and ultimately return to our tasting rooms to taste and talk about our wines with our sommeliers and wine educators.

We work with surrounding organic farms and our own kitchen gardens to provide ingredients for what Travel & Leisure wrote up as one of the worlds top 5 winery restaurants as well as trade and private visitors to the winery. In addition to culinary programs in our teaching kitchen, we look to showcase international artists in our on-site grassed amphitheatre. We have everything in place, a second-to-none location, facilities, and a committed and passionate owner whose clear objective is to make Mission Hill Family Estate one of the worlds top 10 recognized wineries.

Requirements

The Managing Director will join the Winery Senior Management Team and in addition to leading the Hospitality group their primary role will be to deliver innovation, building the wineries world class wines and reputation. Whether leading the expansion of our critically acclaimed Terrace Restaurant or enhancing the performance of our Wine Shop, this position is responsible for ensuring that a lasting impression is created with all guests. To accomplish this, they will coach, motivate and develop the management team and supporting staff to create a high-performance team of professionals who are responsible, accountable and integrated in the delivery of 5 star service and the Hospitality experience of Mission Hill.

To help us achieve our goals, we are looking for that recognized leader who has more than 10 years of demonstrated success in leading a diverse team within a 5 diamond hospitality environment. With a Bachelors degree in Business or Hospitality Management, the successful candidate will possess several years of progressive experience in Sales and Marketing and have significant experience in the development, documentation and implementation of quality standards and operating Procedures. As a driven professional, our ideal candidate will thrive in this innovative and entrepreneurial environment because of their results and action oriented personality and their strong communication skills.
