Bird in Hand is a modern winery in the Adelaide Hills producing an exciting and contemporary portfolio of premium cool climate wines including Sparkling, Rose, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Shiraz, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Sauvignon and Nero d'Avola and Montepulciano.
In addition to our sustainably managed estate vineyard at Woodside, we source fruit from valued growers in the Adelaide Hills, Tasmania, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, Clare, Coonawarra and Limestone Coast.
We are seeking applicants for 2024 vintage cellar hands and a vintage lab assistant.
Working with our Winemakers and permanent cellar crew, we are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking cellar hands with a genuine passion for making wine at the highest level. We offer diversity in our vintage cellar hand roles and encourage an environment of learning.
Specific job responsibilities include:
* weighbridge and fruit receival
* crusher/de-stemmer operation
* press operation
* wine & juice transfers
* additions to tanks
* juice inoculation
* tank & equipment cleaning/sterilisation
* juice flotation
* red ferment pump overs
* barrel topping, stirring, filling and racking
During the peak of harvest, you will be required to work up to 12 hours a day for 6 days a week. Previous cellar experience is preferred. Candidates with a forklift license encouraged but not essential.
