Job Description
Since its establishment around 15 years ago, our client has developed an enviable reputation for producing a range of exceptional, handcrafted varietal and proprietary-blend red and white wines. It is located in one of Western Australia’s most a desirable vineyard regions.

Small volumes and a detailed quality focus ensure that each wine is a unique expression of its vineyard and vintage. The wines have a dedicated consumer following and have earned exceptional national and international recognition including the *****Outstanding Winery category in James Halliday’s definitive Wine Companion.

Recent and planned future growth has created an opportunity for an Assistant Winemaker to join this quality-driven producer. Reporting to the Winemaker, this role calls for an all-rounder who is keen to experience and take hands-on responsibility for a range of harvest, winemaking, cellar and bottling/ packaging tasks and operations which would usually be spread across several employees in a larger winery. A further attraction of this role will be the opportunity for personal interaction on behalf of the company with consumers, distributors and wine media.

Job Requirements
To be the successful applicant, you will need a formal winemaking qualification and at least three years’ experience in a quality-focused wine production environment. You will be comfortable working as a dedicated member of a compact team which is skilled in a wide range of winemaking techniques and tasks. You should be able to lead when necessary and be able to implement and supervise all necessary winemaking, operational and safety procedures. Hands-on vintage, cellar, and some laboratory work experience are essential. You should be keen to learn and excel and will have an adaptable and outgoing personality.

Together with the attractions of working as a key member of a small team, an excellent salary will be offered to the successful candidate.
