We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for a Nightshift Winemaker (casual) to apply to join our award-winning winemakers and experienced cellar team for Vintage 2025.

About the Position

Seppeltsfield Wines is seeking applications for the position of Vintage 2025 Nightshift Winemaker (Casual) from enthusiastic and experienced individuals.

Reporting to the Chief Winemaker, this is a continuous nightshift role for the vintage period. Starting from early to mid-February for a minimum of 8 weeks, this role works across a 13-day fortnight.

Responsibilities in this role include:
• Working closely with the winemaking team and shift supervisors to effectively manage the winemaking process and efficient coordination of work
• Direct supervision of all activities on night shift with a requirement to fill in ‘on the tools’ where necessary
• Effective communication in liaising with cellar, laboratory and vineyard staff to ensure timeliness with all activities
• Good attention to detail with a focus on high quality outcomes
• Interpretation of analysis that informs key winemaking decisions to ensure wines are within specifications
• Assist with coordinating and actively participating in the daily ferment tasting with the winemaking team

Remuneration will be commensurate to experience with all shift work governed by the Wine Industry Award.

Job Requirements
About You

The successful applicant will have:

• A degree in Oenology or equivalent
• Previous vintage experience within a technical role
• An understanding of premium wine
• Demonstrated hands on understanding of winemaking process and equipment
• A proven track record of working autonomously and managing teams
• Strong communication and organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
• Computer literacy - previous experience with EZY wine systems highly desirable
• Current Drivers Licence
• Current Forklift License – desirable but not essential
• Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia will be required
