Job Description
Chandon Australia was created in 1985 on the site of an old dairy farm in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, 50 kilometers east of Melbourne. Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to honing a time-honoured craft, putting it to the test in unusual situations, and using our integrity to create exceptional sparkling wines. With six Chandon maisons globally, we form a passionate and bold community of winemakers located in unexpected lands across Argentina, Brazil, California, Australia, China and India who approach winemaking with a pioneering vision, an adventurous spirit and with respect to our lands.

[ About the Role ]
Working from our modern facilities in the Yarra Valley, our Vintage Cellar Hands are part of an essential team responsible for operating our Cellar to produce our exceptional sparkling wines. To be part of this team you will need to demonstrate your ability to adhere to high quality work standards, with alertness and strong attention to detail.

You will use your strong work ethic to safely and precisely follow our operating procedures and perform varied responsibilities such as:
• Grape receival, pressing, and floatation
• Fermentation monitoring and additions
• Tank racking & transfers, and barrel management
• Precise adherence to our cellar safety and hygiene practice

Our Vintage Cellar Hands will be employed on a casual basis, with work commencing in late-January for 10 to 12 weeks. Our rosters will typically be 40 hours spread across 5 days per week including weekends and public holidays, overtime may be required during peak times.

[ Criteria ]
For your application to be considered, you must:
• Be committed to follow our rigorous Health and Safety practices including specific COVIDSafe procedures
• Be accurate, attentive & efficient in your work style, with an enthusiastic attitude;
• Be able to perform physically demanding work across either day or afternoon shifts;
• Reside in / or be able to temporarily reside in Victoria;
• Have the right to work in Australia until at least the end of April 2021;
• Have worked previously as a Vintage Cellar Hand at a winery
• Be certified with a forklift or HR truck and confined space training (desirable)
