Job Description
Turkey Flat is tucked away on the edge of Tanunda in the beautiful Barossa Valley, surrounded by historic vineyards dating back to 1847. The name Turkey Flat Vineyard derives from the Prussian settlers of Bethany and Langmeil in the early 1840s. They noticed that a large native bird frequented the rich flats located towards the lower end of the Tanunda Creek. They called the site ‘Turkey Flat’, as a result the significance of the bird and the original landscape it came from, symbolises the artwork on the Turkey Flat Vineyard’s wine labels.
The Schulz family have been custodians of Turkey Flat since the 1860s, and the fourth generation of the Schulz family, headed by Christie Schulz, are the current caretaker/proprietors of this remarkable estate.
