Job Description
In the heart of the picturesque Barossa Valley, our family-owned iconic winery boasts over 130 years of heritage and winemaking excellence. Rooted in tradition yet always evolving, we're seeking a Commercial Winemaker to join our team and help us continue our legacy as one of Australia’s pivotal wineries on the global stage.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, high-energy candidate to join the Château Tanunda winemaking team. This opportunity requires an individual who has a strong understanding of all aspects of winemaking to deliver exceptional wines for our customers & consumers. Our customer portfolio encompasses leading supermarkets worldwide and we export to key markets around the world in Asia, America and Europe.
This position represents an opportunity to join a dynamic, passionate team at a leading Australian wine producer in one of Australia’s premium wine regions.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have proven experience in the following:
• Implementing winemaking programs for a broad portfolio of wines
• Managing relationships with growers and bulk wine suppliers
• Successful dealing in the bulk wine market
• Quality control of all winemaking activities
• Blending and preparing wines for bottling
• Preparing trade samples
• Timely and accurate documentation
• Presenting to customers, conducting tastings and assisting with marketing activities
• Vineyard management
In addition to your passion for wine, you will need to have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and be sufficiently organised to achieve tight deadlines.
Tertiary qualification in Oenology is a requirement as the role will cover the entire process of winemaking from vineyard to bottle.
