With an un-wavering commitment to quality, partnering with growers, suppliers and with loyal long-term customer relationships in place, it’s been determined to now commence a strategic search and recruitment process to appoint a high-calibre Commercial Manager as the organisation embarks on the next phase of growth.
Reporting to the Managing Director and in close collaboration with the management team, the role will be a key member of the AV&M leadership team, charged with implementing the commercial growth strategy across Australia, via direct leadership of the Commercial and Finance teams, with a strong emphasis on customers, commercial partners and investors and with key accountabilities across Operational, Commercial and CAPEX budgets and forecasting.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include;
• Leadership of the Finance & Admin team
• Contributing towards the formulation of strategy to enhance operational performance
• Internal profitability, modelling & scenario analysis; Contract review and negotiation
• Budget, forecasting and review of pricing submissions, customer and margin analysis
• Design & implementation of processes and procedures including systems implementation
• Ensuring operations are carried out in an appropriate and cost-effective manner
• Providing data driven insights to maximise profitability
• Business cases for investment analysis
• Tender process reviews & pipeline management
The Successful Candidate
You will have extensive financial leadership and operational management experience, with well-credentialed commercial acumen and the ability to identify opportunities for continued organisational improvement. Looking to take the next step in your career, you are energetic yet pragmatic, passionate about providing compelling commercial solutions. Ideally, you will come with a recognised degree-level qualification in either Commerce, Agri-Business or Procurement disciplines, supported by a professional accounting qualification (CA/ CPA). The successful candidate will have extensive experience gained from within the Australian wine/ viticulture and Global Wine Services sector, an expansive network of key wine industry contacts and influencers and the ability to hit the ground running. You are most likely to have gained your experience in either wine supply-chain, bulk wine handling, wine production, manufacturing and/ or wine bottling roles. In addition, you'll need a strong analytical skill set, excellent leadership development capabilities, communication and negotiation skills.
In terms of personal attributes, the person will be skilled at interacting well with team members and management, while displaying a collaborative and transparent relationship with the Managing Director. Patience, resilience, respect and trust are the hallmarks of the ideal candidate, while an open and task-orientated approach to managing multi-tasks, ambiguity and competing agendas is essential.
