About the role:
The Direct to Consumer (DTC) and Marketing Manager will drive our DTC business as well as manage the day-to-day marketing activities. It is a multi-faceted role, and every day will be different – but here is what you would expect:

Direct to Consumer (DTC):
- Develop and implement the Giant Steps DTC strategy and the management of Tasting Room sales activities, including:
- Develop and manage DTC campaigns (EDMs, Telemarketing, Socials etc)
- Manage the website online shopping experience and content.
- Manage the e-commerce platform
- Develop relationships with relevant business partners to drive sales and visitation referrals to Giant Steps
- Manage DTC inventory
- Implement and manage the Wine Club and make recommendations to drive membership.
- Plan, coordinate and host events to support Wine Club/direct sales and key trade
- Provide oversight of management of the Tasting Room and Tasting Room Manager
- In conjunction with Tasting Room manager, develop and execute tasting room experiences/tastings that best represent the wines, meet consumer expectations, over-deliver vs competitive set, and maximise revenue generation.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase Tasting Room visitation including events, local area marketing and partnerships with other brands, local businesses, advertising, and local media outreach.

Marketing:
- Day to day management of brand marketing for Giant Steps in collaboration with key stakeholders and collaborators including winemaking, viticulture, finance, sales and
- Ensure adherence to the brand guidelines in the development of brand assets and collateral across both DTC and sales channels.
- Manage the brand social media and website content.
- Develop and provide brand selling tools, host trade events and engagements onsite and other support across the

DTC and sales channels:
- Work with the Marketing Director, implement packaging for products and new vintage releases.
- Represent the winery in relevant regional, trade and consumer events/meetings as required.
- Stay current on industry news, category trends, and competitive activity and make recommendations.

Team leadership and development:
- Lead, develop and communicate with team members to ensure priorities are understood and managed. Curate an environment of productivity and positive morale amongst the team.
- Manage recruitment, selection, onboarding, and ongoing training of all team members. Ensure that all team members know their key performance indicators.
- Carry out annual formal performance reviews with direct reports in order to identify and foster talent, ambition and passion

Reporting:
- Participate in forecasting for DTC channel
- Analyse performance and report actionable insights
- Manage budgets and costs

Giant Steps is part of the family of wineries owned by Jackson Family Wines in the USA. This role reports to the Marketing Director for Jackson Family Wines, based in Australia, and involves working closely with winemaking, sales, finance as well as the JFW International brand and creative teams based in Santa Rosa, USA

This role has two direct reports: a Tasting Room Manager and a Marketing and Sales Assistant.

What should you bring:
- Previous experience in a similar role ideally in wine, premium alcoholic beverages, tourism, hospitality
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in industry
- Proven track record developing and implementing DTC campaigns, marketing and brand management and communications including digital and social media
- Outstanding skills in communication and intuitive customer engagement
- Team leadership and management skills
- Commercial and financial acumen
- Efficient, positive, driven with exceptional relationship building skills
- A sense of fun and love of being a part of a team
