Job Description
Kate Hill Wines is a small, family owned and managed vineyard and winery in southern Tasmania’s Huon Valley. Our winery is located 25 minutes drive south of Hobart. We are committed to ensuring our cool climate fruit produces wines of elegance and distinction.

We are looking for a skilled cellar hand to join our friendly team at Kate Hill Wines. The position will allow you to experience winemaking in a small winery environment, and to work with fruit from a range of sites in southern Tasmania. We make sparkling, white and red table wine. The small working environment also ensures the position has a diverse range of tasks to be completed, from managing vintage ferments through to filtration and bottling.
There will be occasions when you will be required to work in the vineyard, should the winery and vintage operations allow.

Job Requirements
Tasks that are included in the position are:
• Following instructions from the winemaker with regards to all vintage operations and other cellar operations
• Ensuring that work areas are maintained in an appropriate state of cleanliness, organisation and hygiene

To be successful with the position, you will be required to have:
• a minimum of 2 years cellar experience, in a premium wine environment

• a comprehensive understanding of basic winemaking principles 

• developed written and verbal skills
be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
understanding of Health & Safety and hygiene codes of conduct
• forklift driver’s licence
• a flexible approach and ‘can do’ attitude to tasks in the workplace
