Job Description
Kilikanoon is looking for an outstanding, wine specialist General Manager to manage the next growth stage of this business.
The current Managing Director will be transitioning from an operational CEO role to a part-time consultative Executive Director role making way for a new General Manager to be mentored into full line management accountability, and later provide support through good governance and counsel.
Kilikanoon is a luxury wine brand that has been recognized for excellence being awarded ‘Australian Winery of the Year’ by James Halliday, the IW&SC and Mundus Vini over the past decade. Understanding how to build and grow luxury wine brands and earn premium prices is an essential part of this role.
Kilikanoon is determined to recruit visitors to its clubs and grow its direct to consumer business in Australia at a faster rate than wholesale and export sales. Given the growth Kilikanoon is currently experiencing in China, Russia, Korea and other developing markets combined with long term success in Canada and Airline clients this will be a challenge. The new General Manager must understand all of these channels and markets as well as how to leverage social media and new virtual platforms for growth.
Job Requirements
It is expected that the successful candidate will take primary accountability for international market sales and in particular China.
Management of the supply chain in a tightening market for grapes and wine is another critical dimension to the position.
Strategic thinking, commercial acumen, outstanding leadership and strong performance management are essential qualities for this role.
This is an outstanding opportunity either for an energetic proven General Manager, or a Sales and Marketing executive looking to develop into an outstanding CEO.
