Job Description
This role is responsible for managing the Maintenance team to ensure the effective, efficient and continual operation of mechanical and electrical equipment at Berri Estates.

The Site Maintenance Manager is also responsible for overseeing the implementation of preventative maintenance programs with the aim of minimising breakdowns and should breakdowns occur, ensuring the breakdown is repaired in a timely fashion to reduce down time.

You will be responsible and accountable for engendering a safety first culture within the Maintenance team in order to minimise risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements
Key Accountabilities
• Responsible and accountable for all maintenance, electrical and grounds work undertaken at the Berri Estates site
• Be involved with the planning and co-ordination of the daily work program in conjunction with the team to maximise output and minimise the cost of materials
• Maintain up to date knowledge of regulatory / statutory requirements to ensure compliance
• Manage, coach and develop the maintenance, electrical and grounds team to be high performing employees and conduct performance reviews and people management tasks as necessary
• Develop and foster a ‘one team’ mentality in the maintenance, electrical and grounds team
• In conjunction with the RTW team, support workers in the return to work process by returning injured employees within 5 days or less where appropriate and ensuring managers are actively involved in the process
• Prepare and hold responsibility for the annual Maintenance budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals
• Execute capital projects at the site as required and within budget
• Manage the tender and quote process for any capital works and general work that needs to be undertaken within the winery
• Optimise equipment according to standard operating procedure with the aim of enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
• Minimise stock on hand in the store for equipment whilst maintaining critical spares
• Keep up to date with changing trends in winery plant, equipment and processes and report on such findings with the aim of creating a culture of continuous improvement
• Manage contractors and other resources on site to ensure they have been inducted appropriately, hold the required current licences and meet legal and company requirements
• Promote and encourage a safety first culture by leading by example and ensuring the team works in accordance with company health, safety and environment policies and procedures
• Ensure EPA Annual Return is completed as per EMSS (Environmental Monitoring Sampling Schedule) and dispatch EMSS samples as per the schedule
• Report on all environmental data and site KPI’s monthly and update environmental graphs with the relevant data
• Publish environmental data for website monitoring in accordance with the EPA licence
• Update the environmental Legal Register (LRV2) and quarterly checklists
• Manage, train and support trade Apprentices where required
• Oversee the Maintenance, Electrical and Grounds workshops and ensure the cleanliness, hygiene and housekeeping are kept at a high level
• Conduct routine checks and audits to ensure maintenance duties are being carried out in accordance with the work instruction and adherence to permits is compliant
• Investigate accidents and incidents promptly to determine causes and apply controls to minimise the risk of the accident or incident occurring in future
• Foster a safety first culture and encourage the reporting of unsafe conditions and incidents by all employees
