Job Description

Established in 1974 and nestled in the heart of Tasmanian wine country, Pipers Brook Vineyard in the beautiful Tamar Valley is recognised as one of the pioneering vineyards of the Tasmanian wine industry. We are a family owned, award winning company known for producing exceptional cool climate wines under labels that include Ninth Island, Pipers Tasmania, Pipers Brook and Kreglinger Sparkling.

We are seeking a suitably experienced Production, Logistics and Safety Manager to join our small but high-performing team. As a key point of contact, both internally and externally, you will be a skilled professional who can manage a busy workload and be able to prioritise tasks with ease and confidence.

Responsibilities will include:

• In consultation with Senior Management develop the production plan, including bottling, labelling and disgorging details and co-ordinate and run monthly production meetings.
• Supervision and coordination of production staff including KPI reporting.
• Maintenance of accurate production and stocktake records in the company winery management software.
• In conjunction with suppliers, plan, forecast and take charge of pricing for all dry goods ensuring constant supply and fixed pricing.
• Coordinate freight movements and export shipping to ensure all orders are despatched in a timely manner and in line with budget expectations.
• Accurate record keeping and SOPs for packaging purchasing, pricing, supplier details etc.
• Co-ordination of Workplace Health and Safety Committee.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment including production planning, purchasing and logistics
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Strong planning, organisational and decision-making skills
• High level of computer literacy
• Experience in managing competing priorities in a timely manner

Salary will be negotiated with the preferred candidate and may include the provision of a fuel card.
