Job Description
With a long and proud history of growing grapes and making wine, Bethany Wines is a benchmark producer and destination in the Barossa Valley.
Built on 6 generations of viticulture and 40 years in the wine business, the ownership of Bethany Wines has recently been handed over to a group of passionate South Australians who are resolute in their commitment to honour and build on the legacy established by the Schrapel family.
As a result of this renewed energy and drive, the opportunity has arisen to employ a quality oriented Production Winemaker, reporting to the Chief Winemaker, who will become part of, and contribute significantly to the team and our vision.
Being a smaller winery (average crush of 250-400t), the successful candidate will be flexible, hands on and enthusiastic to work in all areas of the wine business.

Job Requirements
• University degree in oenology
• Minimum 3 years experience in all areas of winemaking - wine knowledge & passion
• Confined Space trained and forklift licence
• Self motivation, excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic
• The ability to work meticulously without supervision as well as part of a team
• A desire to be hands on, with cellar and lab work a key part of the role
Duties/Responsibilities of Role
• Wine maturation management – monitoring, analysis, additions
• Cellar work – hands on as well as programming and oversight
• Contract winemaking operational relationships
• SWA, WHS + EPA compliance
• Ezywine data management and LIP compliance
• Laboratory – analysis, bench trial prep and + maintenance
• Vintage – winemaker support and vintage worker management
• Bottling and dry goods – coordination + management
• Assist with all winemaking decisions across Bethany branded products
• Contributing to a positive, productive work environment across cellar, growers, third party suppliers and cellar door staff
• Some sales & marketing support as required
Competitive salary package is available commensurate with experience. Applicants must have Australian citizenship/work permit. There may be some light domestic travel.
