Job Description

As the Regional Viticulturist you will be responsible for providing technical support to the Riverland Vineyards sites by monitoring, sampling, researching and assisting with development work and block plan preparation, introducing leading edge viticultural innovations and performing other vineyard operations as required. This position will provide support to our six vineyard sites in the Riverland Region and support production of a range of grape varieties.

Regional Viticulturist will be responsible for providing early identification of production limiting targets, maintaining the environmental management plan and other record keeping systems and databases, assisting in irrigation management, soil nutrition, pest and disease and yield estimation programs to achieve yield and quality targets and providing technical support to managers at other intra and interstate vineyards, coupled with managing people to assist in your responsibilities.

Job Requirements

Preferred candidates will ideally hold tertiary qualifications in Horticulture or Viticulture and have a thorough understanding of warm climate viticulture and regulations effecting viticulture and grape supply practices. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, successful candidates will have the ability to prioritise, plan and manage time to meet deadlines, the ability to track and present accurate data and reports, be able to demonstrate a high-level attention to detail, be highly proficient in the use of MS applications and hold a current driver’s licence and chemical handling certificate.
