Job Description

We are looking to fill a full time Senior Winemaker position at our Yenda Winery.
The Senior Winemaker will be a passionate, hands-on, and driven individual with five to ten years of experience preferably in large scale wineries.
If successful you will provide technical direction, strategic planning, develop junior winemaking staff and provide leadership and support to the winemaking team, with a focus on quality always.
This is a long-term career opportunity where you will be able to make your mark as a Senior Winemaker. An attractive remuneration package, with the opportunity for relocation, will be offered to the successful applicant, commensurate with experience and suitability.
All selected applicants will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical which includes a physical assessment and a drug & alcohol test.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary or equivalent degree in Winemaking or Oenology
- Demonstrated winemaking ability over five to ten years, in diverse operations, specialising in large scale wineries
- Demonstrated success in winemaking and your own developed winemaking style
- Ability to manage teams, including effective communication skills, a team player with effective leadership and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently, managing your own workload and priorities
- Show evidence of excellent supervision, organising and planning skills including use of computer systems
- Demonstrate good presentation and communication skills
- A practical understanding of running a large-scale winery on a profitable basis
