Job Description
Australian Cuvee Centre is a newly established world class contract winemaking facility producing premium quality Australian Sparkling Wine in the traditional method for wineries across Australia. Located in Dromana on the Mornington Peninsula, 1 hour south of Melbourne.

We’re looking for a full-time winemaker who is passionate about sparkling wine to join our team and work with our chief winemaker, who is one of Australia’s best sparkling wine makers.

You will work with diverse clients, fruit and base-wine from a variety of wine regions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about sparkling wines and wants to refine their skills and help produce premium quality Australian Sparkling Wines.

This hands-on position encompasses all aspects of the winemaking process from the vineyard, fruit processing, cellar management, lab operations, blending, preparation for bottling, oak management, tirage and dosage, maintaining records, client communication and some customer sales.

You are a dynamic, hard-working and passionate winemaker with self-drive to make things happen, who shows initiative and is excited about working in a growing, family-owned business.

Excellent communication skills are essential in this role as you will be involved in client liaison and tastings, as well as actively contributing to the evolution of their sparkling wines. A friendly personality, can-do attitude is also a must. A keen desire to communicate with the public at functions and trade events, and an interest in wine education, will also be highly beneficial.

Work hours will vary, dependent on winery activities. Applicants must be flexible to changing shifts, with weekend work required during vintage and occasionally at other times throughout the year.

Job Requirements
• A tertiary qualification in winemaking or commensurate industry experience.
• At least 5 vintages experience as a winemaker, or assistant winemaker.
• Demonstrated competency in all routine winery operations and equipment.
• Working knowledge of wine quality parameters and analysis.
• Wine tasting and quality assessment experience.
• Excellent communication & organisational skills.
• Methodical work habits & precise record keeping.
• Ability to manage a winery lab.
• Enthusiasm to work in the vineyard, at wine events and conduct tastings or masterclasses from time to time.
• Meticulous attention to detail in regards to winery cleanliness.
• Proven ability to build positive relationships and communicate with management and staff
• Must be prepared to work extended hours, particularly through the vintage period.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
• Current Forklift Licence.
• Applicants must have Australian citizenship/residency or a valid existing Australian work visa.
