An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to take the next step in their career. Reporting to the Senior Viticulture Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in working to improve grape quality thus enhancing final wine product, as well as facilitating grape intake during the Vintage period and managing grower administration requirements throughout the year.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

 Co-ordinate day to day Technical work at regional level and delegate responsibilities appropriately;
 Vineyard block assessments;
 Collect and review data for yield estimation;
 To organise and carry out grape maturity sampling as per the appropriate protocol;
 Pest and disease monitoring as required;
 Auditing of Spray Diaries and Calibration Sheets to ensure compliance with the company’s responsibilities regarding MRL and HACCP;
 Soil moisture monitoring in conjunction with the Senior Viticulture Manager & Vineyard Managers;
 Organise the collection of phenological data;
 Organise the collection of petiole, nematode and soil tests;
 Co-ordinate and manage day to day Winery Grape Intake during vintage, included but not limited to:
o Prepare and communicate plan to vineyards, carriers, harvest operators and winery teams.
o Manage grape purity standards within winery.
o Manage grape carriers and ensure compliance to Chain of Responsibility legislation.
o Maintain and ensure compliance to winery’s ICA accreditation.
o Manage the Weighbridge teams and Intake team.
 Negotiate and manage Grape Supply Agreements for Inland regions.
 Prepare and keep policies, procedures and manuals up-to-date.
 Manage and update various databases;
 Any other duties, as required.

Job Requirements
We are looking for:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional planning and organization skills
• Detail orientated and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
• High level of MS office skills.
• Working knowledge of EzyWine and Grapelink would be advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a technical Viticulture/Horticulture and GLO role.
• Tertiary qualifications in Viticulture or Agriculture from a recognized institution.
