Job Description
Marions Vineyard is an established family operated vineyard in Northern Tasmania, 30 minutes north of Launceston.
We are seeking applications for the full-time position of an experienced Vineyard/Farm Operator to join our small team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out day to day vineyard duties as directed by the Manager. Duties may also include other property maintenance and some winery duties.
About the Role
• Tractor operations including spreading, spraying, trimming, slashing, mowing and undervine weeding.
• Maintenance of trellis & irrigation systems and fencing
• Organic Chemical Application and associated record keeping
• Assisting with vineyard development projects
• A variety of vineyard duties in accordance with seasonal requirements such as pruning, canopy management and training of young vines as well as re-working older vines.
• Remuneration in line with level of experience with above.
Job Requirements
The Successful applicant will:
• Be reliable with a strong work ethic
• Be able to work well independently and in a small team
• Have experience in a farming / vineyard environment including tractor and machinery operation
• Be physically fit and able to undertake outdoor and manual tasks
• Current drivers licence & own transport is essential.
• Be able to work unsupervised and show initiative
• Be able to work in the winery when required for bottling and grape harvest.
• Pest Controllers license will be considered an advantage
• Previous experience supervising labour hire crews and/or staff will be highly regarded, but not essential.
• Flexible working hours during peak periods of operations, such as vintage
Salary will be negotiated based on applicants experience.
