VINEYARD MANAGER – PERMANENT FULL TIME

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated Vineyard Manager to manage 9.50 hectares of premium Estate vineyards with potential for expansion. Reporting to our General Manager in conjunction with the Head Winemaker Liz Heidenreich you will preferably have graduate qualifications in viticulture and previous vineyard management experience, high energy levels and a great work ethic.

The applicant must have significant vineyard management experience and will be responsible for all vineyard operations, contractor negotiations, planning, budgeting, equipment maintenance and purchasing.



Job Requirements
This is a 'hands-on' vineyard role and a sound knowledge of all vineyard and viticulture operations is essential. Ordinary hours of work are Monday to Friday, but the position requires working after hours and weekends during peak periods. Excellent Remuneration including a company vehicle, staff accommodation maybe available for the right candidate.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work closely and in collaboration with the Head Winemaker
• As a member of the management team contribute to the evolution of the vineyard and performance and growth of the business with short and long-term organisational planning
• Oversee viticulture methods and practices encompassing the consideration of all relative models
• Contribute to the improvement of management systems, processes, and best practices
• Management and supervision of vineyard workers, contractors, equipment and infrastructure
• Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained at optimum efficiency
• Ensure all operations are managed in alignment with WH&S legislation, quality controls and HACCP requirements
• Review monthly and P&L assessments and forecasts against budget
• Work with finance on short and long-term financial and managerial reporting
• Use required software and applications to examine financial and operational data to improve productivity
• Conduct all workplace tasks with environmental & sustainability commitments front of mind, including ensuring compliance to any relevant environmental laws and compliance
• Machinery operation (mechanical harvesting operations, tractor, forklift, heavy vehicle)

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Qualification in Viticulture (preferred) or 5+ years of experience
• Proven hands-on experience as a manager
• Mechanical harvester and tractor experience
• Current Driver and forklift licence
• Chemical Accreditation
