Job Description
Multi award winning, Winery and Vineyard on the Bellarine Peninsula seeks a reliable & dedicated Vineyard Operator to join our team.

Our brands include, Leura Park Estate, Jack Rabbit Vineyard, Yes Said the Seal, Cat Out Of The Bag & Flying Brick Cider Co.

Our viticulture focus is on producing premium cool climate grapes.

This position is a hands-on role focussing on vineyard operations, maintenance and operational logistics on a day to day basis across 150 acres and 5 sites. Reporting directly to the Vineyard Manager.

The Role
As a vital member of the vineyard team your responsibilities will include:
• Assist with the best practise approach to vineyard operations and vine maintenance
• Assist with the coordination of maintenance of all vineyard and associated plant and equipment
• Assist with the coordination of the movement of plant and machinery between all vineyard sites
• General vineyard maintenance including but limited to, mid row and under vine maintenance, irrigation and other vineyard infrastructure maintenance
• Operate vineyard machinery
• Vermin control including feral animals and crop protection from birds
• Assistance with annual pruning, foliage management and harvest
• Participate in workplace consultation as required to ensure best practice compliance
• Participate and assist in implementing a culture of safety in the vineyard

Job Requirements
• Ideally you will have extensive experience in the agriculture, grape growing and wine industry
• A current driver’s license is a requirement. Forklift license and a heavy rigid truck license will be advantageous
• Strong mechanical knowledge is highly regarded
• You will have experience in a wide variety of tasks in and around a vineyard including machinery operation
• Chemical User Permit or willingness to complete
• You are self-motivated, enthusiastic and reliable with excellent organisation and communication skills
• You are hardworking, proactive and work well in a small team environment
• You have the ability to work autonomously at times.
• You have a passion for the wine industry
