Vintage Cellar Hand 2022 - Moorooduc Estate
501 Derril Rd
Moorooduc, VIC 3933
Application Closing Date
VINTAGE / HARVEST
Moorooduc Estate Winery, on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, is looking for someone to join the team for the 2022 vintage. Someone keen to work with a small team of three, including arguably the world’s best story teller, easily the 19th best forklift operator in the region and an MW that enjoys getting her hands dirty. This someone must be versed in the world of small batch winemaking, have an interest in the finer points of detail, enjoy sharing knowledge, endless pressure cleaning, have a current forklift certification, be willing to participate in a road-trip or two to regions afar (Covid restrictions dependant) and criticising the beer or gin selection at the end of the day.
We see about 150t through the door, almost solely MP Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. You must be able to work alone on occasion and have experience performing tasks such as pump-overs, racking, additions, plunging, barrel work, unloading fruit from trucks and a tiny bit of lab. The successful someone will likely have experience working in a similar sized operation, be enthusiastic about wild ferments, understand that well wielded hot water can clean most things, and generally be excited about striving to make the fruit do the talking, not the winemaking.
We pay relevant award rate, can assist in accommodation requirements and provide meals (when time permits, these can be epic). We are located approximately 1 hour south of Melbourne. Due to unpredictable Covid restrictions, applicants with Australian residency would be preferable (not essential), or if you are currently in the country on an existing Australian work visa, valid until the end of April 2022. If you believe you are the one, email Jeremy a copy of your CV and cover letter using the 'APPLY FOR JOB' link above.
