Job Description
Moncreiffs Winery is a medium-sized contract winemaking facility in the Nagambie Lakes region of Central Victoria. We are a supportive, dedicated and fun team with a serious commitment to safety. Our customers, including McPherson Wines, trust us to consistently produce quality wine.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated laboratory technician for the 2025 vintage. The applicant will be the only laboratory employee and, while they will receive support from winemakers, they will be principally responsibly for all laboratory operations. This includes:
- accurate and timely analysis of all vessels throughout the winemaking process
- accurate data recording
- calibration and standardisation of instruments
- trouble-shooting of instruments and procedures
- stock management
- maintain a high standard of safety
- maintain a high standard of cleanliness

We strongly value a positive workplace culture. As part of this, we have weekly team BBQs through vintage and are supplied one meal a week from our neighbours at Tahbilk Estate. You’ll participate in a group session with our local physiotherapist and nutritionist to help you get the most out of your vintage experience. We can also help to arrange accommodation and transport.
Job Requirements
It is essential that candidates have:
- a minimum of 5 years laboratory experience, with at least 3 of those years in a wine laboratory
- intermediate computer literacy
- excellent attention to detail
- strong communication skills
- demonstrated ability to work independently
- demonstrated ability to manage fatigue through the vintage period

The following will be looked upon favourably:
- tertiary studies in a related field
- familiarity with the Biosystems Y15 enzymatic analyser and/or Metrohm T5 auto-titrator
- familiarity with EzyWine software

Our typical vintage runs from late-January to mid-April (subject to the season), during which the laboratory technician will be required to work extended hours.

Prospective candidates will be required to complete an online psychometric assessment.

All applicants must be Australian citizens/residents or have a current working visa.

The Tahbilk Group, including Moncreiffs Winery, is an Equal Opportunity Employer in accordance with all federal and state laws.
