Job Description
An outstanding and rare opportunity to join one of Australia’s leading Coonawarra family-owned wineries.

Zema Estate is looking to appoint a highly skilled, engaged, motivated and hands on winemaker to join our close-knit team. With approximately 150 acres of premium Coonawarra vineyards and over 40 vintages of experience Zema Estate has an extensive reputation for its expressive, Coonawarra accented wines of renowned consistency and high quality.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the overall wine production from vineyard fruit assessment through to bottling undertaking the day-to-day activities which are required in a winery of Zema Estate’s size. A sound knowledge and experience in quality grape production, understanding of viticultural practices and passion for winemaking are essential.
Job Requirements
The successful applicant will meet the following requirements:

- hold the relevant tertiary qualification in Oenology.
- minimum 5 years winemaking experience.
- sound technical winemaking skills.
- self-motivated with strong organisation, time management and planning skills.
- experience in the use of winemaking systems/software.
- experience in managing a team and ensuring an efficient flow of work.
- excellent communication, management skills and flexibility to work well in a small team
- ability to effectively liaise with members of the team.
- ability to work independently with a ‘hands on’ approach.
- ability to meet marketing and PR responsibilities.
- hold a current drivers, forklift license and RSA.
- have an Australian citizenship/residency.
